{"id":1799,"date":"2026-08-25T11:37:17","date_gmt":"2026-08-25T09:37:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/muvemestre.visitmuve.it\/mostra\/klimt-schiele-kokoschka\/"},"modified":"2026-08-31T16:34:39","modified_gmt":"2026-08-31T14:34:39","slug":"klimt-schiele-kokoschka","status":"publish","type":"mostra","link":"https:\/\/muvemestre.visitmuve.it\/en\/exhibition\/klimt-schiele-kokoschka\/","title":{"rendered":"Klimt, Schiele, Kokoschka and the Body in Contemporary Art"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The successful exhibition programme conceived by the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia for Mestre continues in the new spaces of <strong>MUVEC<\/strong>.<br \/>\nFollowing the success of <em>Kandinsky and the Avant-Garde<\/em> in 2022, <em>Chagall and the Colour of Dreams<\/em> in 2023, <em>Matisse and the Light of the Mediterranean<\/em> in 2024 and <em>Munch and the Expressionist Revolution<\/em> in 2025, the new chapter once again draws on the rich civic collections of the International Gallery of Modern Art at Ca\u2019 Pesaro.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition focuses on the <strong>protagonists of the Viennese Secession<\/strong> &#8211; Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele and Oskar Kokoschka &#8211; and on their <strong>ability to explore the human soul through the body<\/strong>, portrayed in a direct, at times brutal and unsettling way.<span class=\"im\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"im\">The body, rendered in a highly personal style, takes centre stage in <strong>Gustav Klimt<\/strong>\u2019s nudes: refined, seductive and restless figures that embody the early 20th-century reflections on art, psychology and literature.<span class=\"gmail_default\"><br \/>\nIn the works of <strong>Egon Schiele<\/strong>, the emaciated bodies of men and women, almost transformed into dehumanised mannequins, become the focus of a powerful exploration of the human condition, revealing the artist\u2019s strong connection with the emerging field of psychoanalysis.<\/span><br \/>\nThe two great masters of the Viennese Secession are joined by the visionary genius of <strong>Oskar Kokoschka<\/strong>, whose vibrant, expressionist painting conveys the anxieties of an era standing on the threshold of the First World War.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"class_list":["post-1799","mostra","type-mostra","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.6 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Klimt, Schiele, Kokoschka and the Body in Contemporary Art - MUVE a Mestre<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Klimt, Schiele and Kokoschka at MUVEC in Mestre.
